As the Marketing Coordinator for the Department of Theatre & Dance, Lisa manages the marketing and advertising budget for the University Theatre and University Dance Company’s performances. She also serves as publicist for Kansas Repertory Theatre, KU’s summer professional theatre company. She develops, implements and executes marketing strategies, with an emphasis on social media and community-building.
Lisa made the switch to marketing as a profession in 2009 after years working as a journalist, where she served as a reporter and editor in both the TV and newspaper industries. In the television industry, Lisa led a team of online journalists to win a regional Edward R. Murrow Award of Excellence. She’s worked as a marketing professional in for-profit, government and academic sectors.
A native Nebraskan, Lisa and her husband have called Lawrence their home since 2003. When she’s not at work, Lisa enjoys communing with nature, seeing live music, going to the theatre, and visiting art galleries and museums.
