  • 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. - Senior Capstone Performance of "The Wizard of AIDS," Sherbon Theatre, Robinson Center
    • The Wizard of AIDS* (*Aware Individuals Deserving Survival) is a 30-minute edu-tainment parody written in 1989 by the late Michael Barto. Produced by HealthWorks Theatre, the show was performed hundreds (if not thousands) of times at community centers and high schools, providing essential education about HIV infection, safer sex, consent, and unerring compassion. This is the first time The Wizard of AIDS has been produced in nearly two decades, as it fell into non-use, along with most grassroots HIV drama, in the mid-2000s. By reviving this script, we reflect upon the sickening prejudice, misinformation, and governmental inaction that took countless lives, we remember the theatre-makers who dedicated their lives to Queer survival, and we honor our community by doing what we do best: laughing in the face of hatred, harder than they can possibly imagine. Content warning: use of homophobic language, and sexual themes
