Departmental Room/Studio Reservations
Theatre & Dance students may reserve classrooms & studios for academic purposes, which includes rehearsals for studio classes and approved performance projects such as Senior Showcase or Jayhawk Performance Lab. All room requests should include the class or project name and the sponsoring professor's name when applicable.

Please note, requests for the William Inge Memorial Theatre, performances with an audience in any Theatre & Dance space, or film shoots in any Theatre & Dance space must be requested by submitting an Academic Activity Facility Request.
Guidelines
Murphy Classrooms & Studios
You are required to reserve the studio ahead of time. Email Jack Rischer or you can use the instructions below to make a reservation through your Outlook calendar.
- Please leave the space as you found it. Take any trash with you and move furniture back to its original state.
- No food or drink except for water.
Robinson Classrooms & Studios
You are required to reserve the studio ahead of time. The studios will be locked when they are not reserved. Email Lowen Millspaugh or you can use the instructions below to make a reservation through your Outlook calendar.
Reservations will be limited to twice a week with up to 1.5 hour timeslots weekdays and 2 hours on weekends. Studios close at 9pm.
- Please leave the space as you found it. Take any trash with you and move furniture back to its original state.
- Do not sit on the ballet bars.
- Don’t mark on the floor, use spike tape.
- Don’t wear tap shoes in ROB 242 (new Marley floor). No street shoes or stilettos in all studios.
- Please be careful with the sound equipment. Excess volume can blow out the speakers.
- No food or drink other than water in the studios.
Room Reservations via Outlook
- Calendar Tab
- Open Calendar dropdown in menu bar
- Choose "From Room list..."
- Search for room name
- Double click room name
- Click OK

- Open Shared Calendar in menu bar
- Search for room name
- Click room name
- Click OK
- Calendar Tab
- On your personal calendar, create a new event
- Choose date & times
- In Location start typing the room name
- Suggestions will pop up and indicate if the room is available
- Choose the room
- Or click Scheduling Assistant
- You can view multiple room schedules and adjust times to decide on a room
- Click Meeting to go back to complete the reservation
- Enter details about your reservation – Students should include both the class and instructor name for rehearsal requests
- Click send
- An email will be sent to the admin staff to approve or reject the reservation
- Calendar Tab
- On your personal calendar, create a new event
- Choose date & times
- In location start typing the room name
- Suggestions will pop up but will NOT indicate if the room is available
- Choose the room
- Or click the open book next to the location field to search for rooms
- Type in Murphy or Robinson to see the room list
- Highlight a room and click Check Availability
- You can view multiple room schedules and adjust times to decide on a room
- Click Appointment to go back to complete the reservation
- Enter details about your reservation – Students should include both the class and instructor name for rehearsal requests
- Click send
- An email will be sent to the admin staff to approve or reject the reservation
