Loren Kennedy Ambassadors pose at the 2023 Theatre & Dance Rally

Loren Kennedy Ambassadors

The Loren Kennedy Endowment Fund was established as a bequest from the estate of Loren W. Kennedy of Parsons, Kansas. The majority of the income of the fund is used for arts administration traineeships in the Department.

Students are selected on the basis of the student’s overall achievements in the Department and on the student’s interest in serving in an administrative capacity. Students who have served as a Loren Kennedy in the past are eligible for renewal, but must apply each year.

The goal of the program is to provide each recipient the opportunity to train in administrative areas of theatre & dance. It also provides staff assistance with administrative tasks, auditions, and special projects throughout the academic year. The students serve as ambassadors to and as advocates for their fellow students.

Eligible students should apply by completing the Loren Kennedy application by April 1 for consideration.

Loren Kennedy Ambassadors are chosen by the Managing Director and the Chair of the Department.
