Christine Colby Jacques began her career as a Radio City Music Hall Rockette before debuting on Broadway as a principal in the original cast of Bob Fosse’s Dancin’. She continued working with Mr. Fosse in his Broadway revival and First National Tour of Sweet Charity, appearing in the role of Ursula and as a legendary Spender Girl opposite Debbie Allen, and as a principal in the original cast of the First National Tour of the Broadway show Fosse.
Some of Christine’s television and film credits include A Chorus Line, Annie, All That Jazz, guest artist with the Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre Workshop Special on PBS, Placido Domingo Special, Tony Awards, Night of 100 Stars, The Tonight Show, and numerous national and local commercials, print ads, and music videos. She toured the U.S. as national spokesperson for Danskin/Esmark’s PBS Special The Magic of Dance, a six part series hosted and narrated by Dame Margot Fonteyn.
Christine became the first guest artist to appear with the Kansas City Ballet, performing as The Vamp in Todd Bolender’s ballet Souvenirs, and continues to teach the Kansas City Ballet trainees the Fosse style and approach to dance performance.
Christine holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Kansas. She is certified in the Zena Romett Floor Barre Technique and is also certified in the BeMoved Method of Dance Fitness. She has served as Artist in Residence at Stephens College Summer Intensive program, Kansas State University, University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music, Interlochen Arts Academy, and the University of Kansas.
