Alumni Spotlight: Kieran Regan
Kieran Regan graduated from KU in 2020 with a degree in graphic design and minors in theatre and art history. The scholarship student was cast in such KU shows as The Christians, As You Like It, and Sycorax, among others. When asked about their KU Theatre experience, Kieran expressed “Being a graphic design major and then jumping into a show halfway through junior year, after never having acted, was the best decision I made.”
Currently, Kieran is based in Los Angeles and recently voiced Locke, the demon bounty hunter. They're the newest playable character in the internationally renowned video game League of Legends. They're also the deuteragonist Yoshitsune Asama in the critically acclaimed show Nippon Sangoku, produced by Amazon Studios and available on Prime. Finally, they were nominated for a 2026 Hermes award, AKA the Oscars of voice over dubbing, for their work on The Seduction, a French prequel to Dangerous Liaisons out now on HBO Max.
Kieran’s advice for incoming and current KU Theatre & Dance students is to take the plunge and do the things that scare you—fear and excitement live in the same place.
Among their anime/animation credits are 24 episodes as the main character Rio in Spriit Chronicles, Shinn Asuka in Mobile Suit Gundam Freedom, Kaboku Kotani in Wandance on Disney+, Clave Rollek in Star Wars Young Jedi, Johnny Storm in Marvel's Meet the Avengers. For video games they're in Fortnite, AFK Journey, Genshin Impact, Story of Seasons, Fatal Fury and more. Be on the lookout for some major video game, commercial, and anime bookings of Kieran’s coming soon.
