Restorative Week 2023

We know how hard you work and we could all use some restoration and relaxation to get us through the rest of the semester! We are excited to be offering a full week of Restorative Classes April 10-14th for students, staff and faculty of the Department of Theatre & Dance.

During our regularly scheduled dance classes we will be having health and wellness classes that include yoga, meditation, sound healing, nutrition, mental wellness, and more to benefit the mind and body. Local practitioners from OmTree Shala/Sunflower Wellness Studio will be teaching. We hope you will join us in these classes! Feel free to drop in on any class.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! In fact, you are a perfect candidate for yoga. Come as you are and you will find that yoga practice will help you become more flexible. This new found agility will be balanced by strength, coordination as well as a sense of physical confidence and overall well-being.

Just bring yourself, in appropriate clothing (see below), and maybe bring a small bottle of water.

Some people wear baggy, loose fitting bottoms or shorts and a t shirt. Other people wear tight, stretchy leggings with tops. The only thing that matters is that you wear comfortable clothes that you can easily move and stretch in. It's good to have clothes that keep you cool when you are active in yoga. Some people also bring socks and a small blanket for the relaxation or meditation.

All the equipment, including mats, you need for class is provided. If you prefer to bring your own yoga mat that's fine too.
